Mike got me up at the butt crack of dawn...4:30 in order to make it to our breakfast with our good friends Dick & Debbie in Greeley. However, once we got to Dick's he suggested we have breakfast out across the street at the park,which I thought was to be the champagne and glasses in a basket they had packed....now I knew something was up, but what? We went to the park and Mike was looking all around...finally he says "what we are looking for is a BIG balloon," and then to my puzzled response "A HOT AIR BALLOON!" Mike obviously picked up somewhere that I have always wanted to go on a hot air ballon ride, but they are just way too expensive...so he found the guy and a way, as usual, for a fabulous surprise...even worth getting up at 4:30 for! Wenzel and Dick helped crew the "ship" as we unpacked and filled up the balloon with air, and then again after we landed, putting everything away...THANKS guys!!!!!! We flew for about an hour and landed in a farmers field (after the ground crew got permission of course). It was so peaceful! Another, cool note...this is one of only 12 in the WORLD home-built (yep he sewed it all himself!) specially shaped ballons. Click on thumbnails to see larger pictures.
